Everything you need to know about The Daughter of Cerridwen, my NaNoWriMo 2017 project.
Firstly, here’s the mock-up cover I made for the project:

Here’s the synopsis:
The Daughter of Cerridwen is the story of seventeen-year-old Ashara, the ever-obedient ward of the king of Leera. Kidnapped as a child by the king, she has been living at his side for fourteen years, his virtual prisoner.
Ashara had never thought herself to be content. Not with The King’s prying eyes or roaming hands. Not with every courtier pressing an ear to her door. Everything changes the day a new face begins to walk the halls of the castle. Because, after all, she was always just a part of the king’s game
Ashara is believed to be the last living Mage in Leera, after a mass genocide took the lives of every other Mage in the land, young and old. One day, the impossible happens. An old friend comes back into her life and changes everything. She begins to plan an audacious escape with her unlikely ally, daring to hope there is a future for her outside of the dismal castle walls.
Here’s an excerpt:
Anger ran through my veins as I crashed into their first line of defense. All the years I had spent watching the soldiers from my bedroom window as a child were finally taking effect. I had stood, rolling onto the balls of my feet, trying in vain to catch a glimpse. I would watch as they swung their swords, mimicking the movements in my empty chambers, planting my feet firmly on the ground, in an attempt to balance. It didn’t always work and, most often, I ended up on the floor in a crumpled heap of sparkly satin and russet curls.
I’ve been working on the project since August fourth and I finished the first draft August 16th. I’m currently on the seventh draft and working on revising it for NaNoWriMo this year. I also submitted to Author Mentor Match and couldn’t be more excited for that opportunity! This project is very close to my heart and I hope all of you enjoy hearing about!
